Fun fact; Tango & Cash was the last movie released in 1989, and therefore the end of the 1980s action cinema. And you can tell by just how over the top it is. It’s one of my favorite films. A lot of the stuff was cool in the 90s but I feel like the matrix took a lot of niche stuff and brought it to the next decade. Anime, conspiracy theories, and hacker culture became a lost more mainstream after the movie came out. I’d love to know if the Nice I Swear Because I Care Bitch Shirt. The number of parodies and influence the movie had on other films just absolutely permeated into the next decade. Yeah, definitely.
