My left joy-con was drifting yesterday. This morning, I took a q-tip with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol on it and used the q-tip to force the plastic flap underneath the stick (on the rolling part) up so that the alcohol would go underneath. I made sure that the alcohol was applied all Official Not Enough Sage In The World For This Shit Shirt. It seems to have fixed the problem. I heard of this method from (I don’t have a link; I watched it a while back) said the most common cause of drift was dust getting up under there and messing with some kind of contact, and the alcohol helps clean out/dissolve small impurities. Which I did with a repair kit the first time I had noticeable drift. That’s interesting, I’ve tried the rubbing alcohol method before and it always starts drifting again within a few hours. I’ve never tried it consistently over an Official Not Enough Sage In The World For This Shit Shirt. I might try that soon (if I can find rubbing alcohol anywhere at the store these days, that is). The guy in the video and some comments say if it still drifts or drifts again after cleaning you should try to calibrate via the menu first. Last time I sent in my controller, it came back with the drift fixed, but suddenly the range on the BlueTooth connection. Then it’s really a nice shirt for all men and women.
