I used to smoke for 5 years. Then I got sick of it cutting into my weed funds so I stopped. I mean yeah I’m serious about that being the band it’s referencing. Go look up a picture of The Darkness’ logo. It’s the same as what’s on the organ. There’s actually a green uniform tint too. The camera never picked it up. There are a few colors in there but it’s pretty subtle. Thanks, bud for the Skull Some Girls Are Just Born With The Darkness In Their Souls Shirt. Something a bit different. Actually looks better in person in the low light on the shelf. Originally I was going to use two tiny pieces of red glitter so they’d reflect realistically but just decided against it last minute. Next time maybe. Doubt it intentionally, but looking at some archive photos, burning street corners and burning wreckage did throw lots of light and shadow. Who knows the flames could be coming from a burning tank they’ve just taken out.

I just figured where the most light was coming from by using a torch, then picked out those areas in bright orange. Kept most of the colors muted so it’s only really highlighted on the helmet rims and the Skull Some Girls Are Just Born With The Darkness In Their Souls Shirt. The faces of the bricks are more solid orange and yellow with the intensity of flame and light. The cannon was given an orange wash over Matt black then highlights added. I hope that the bumbling explanation helps. How did you know where to paint? Did you use some kind of projection or did you have any other template for this? Its the painting I love about the hobby, building not so much. Ah well, people downvote stuff all the time with me.
