You say a ‘Vulkan renderer’ would be a big thing. I scratch my head, I think the emulation of the ‘Top Vote Warnock Shirt in the current release has much more long term value. Even if I’ll probably never use the ‘News’ emulation and might end up skipping it in my own yearly writeups I can acknowledge that it’s preventing something super obscure from being lost to time which is an achievement much more aligned with the project values. Funding the project as a whole creates an expectation, if you think the “wah wah wah why haven’t you worked on Model 2” posts are bad just imagine the sense of entitlement people will have if they’re putting money into a global pot. MAME related fundraisers are strictly for material costs. So you should buy this shirt. Thank you so much. Ok.

It’s been bad enough with external fundraisers with people. Setting terms and conditions, not wanting to contribute unless. Promises were made to not buy Gambling / Redemption games,  etc. Or stopping future contributions when the Top Vote Warnock Shirt. I may yet set up something myself, but it would be entirely on the grounds of ‘anything that gets. Pledged goes towards buying hardware of my choice to help with emulation’ and ‘no guarantee of any specific progress’. I might be open to people supporting that venture, as it would be my own venture. Taking money for writing MAME code is not something that interests me tho. I move away from actually developing MAME, and just start doing media-related coverage of things, more on the YouTube side, etc. Ok.
